When you hang a flat panel on the wall you need to hide he cables (so says my wife). This helps to solve the problem. Be very careful when you cut the hole in the wall. You could end up with nothing to screw the retaining screws into. Got a drywall bracket from a friend and that did the trick.At least I think it's called a drywall bracket.

Well its look like a good idea, but when installed it is to deep so if you are running wires from top or bottom is fine no other way to use .

This is a good idea in principle, but I think due to electrical codes, they consciously designed it so that it cannot be used with a standard junction/gang box without modification and of course, there is no seal. Otherwise, it is a perfect solution to eliminate 4 connections in a typical wire job.
